Relaxation (Swedish) Massage A perfect massage aimed to smooth away tension, improve circulation, soothe aching muscles, and relieve physical and emotional stress. Communicate beforehand with your therapist about what kind of pressure you find most relaxing, or simply trust their professional judgement, as you let go of the worries of the world. (30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes, or 120 minutes)
Deep Tissue Massage A deeper massage with stronger pressure that targets specific areas of the body. Designed to soften the muscle and warm the tissue to increase flexibility and relieve soreness. During longer sessions, expect that Swedish relaxation techniques will be blended with Deep Tissue work to specific problem areas. (30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes, or 120 minutes)
Pregnancy Massage Similar to a Swedish massage, but with the use of special maternity bolsters for total comfort at all stages of pregnancy. Pregnancy massage benefits the upper back, hip and leg discomforts which often are experienced during pregnancy. (60 minutes or 90 minutes)
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (Tracy Heron Moore, LMT and Marc Maupoux, LMT are the only practitioners to offer this treatment) This gentle bodywork technique focuses on sensing the subtle tidal patterns of the cerebrospinal fluid and restores flow and movement to the fluid systems of the central nervous system. Like any area of the body, trauma or injury to the tissues can lead to blockage or stagnation patterns. This can be very helpful for anyone with a history of concussions, head trauma, auto accidents, or birth trauma, to give some common examples. Craniosacral is considered by some to be an Energy Medicine technique, but unlike some more energetic forms of therapy, it is very grounded in the rhythms and tissues of the human body. Chinese Style Meridian Cupping, Gua Sha, and Moxibustion (Itsa Shash, LMT and Brooke Bell, L.Ac and LMT are the only practitioners to offer this treatment) This treatment applies cupping, scraping, and heat therapy to specific energy points to harmonize the Qi within the meridians and yin and yang energies to aid the body's ability to heal itself. This can be a stand alone treatment or combined with other styles of massage.
Lymphatic Facilitation (Marc Maupoux, LMT is the only practitioner to offer this treatment) Lymphatic facilitation can be helpful in reducing swelling from an acute injury or surgery, and can help reduce recovery time. This treatment is offered as part of a 60-or 90-minute session in combination with craniosacral therapy, or as a stand-alone 30-minute follow-up treatment for return clients only. This work is best suited and most helpful to clients in the early stages of healing when there is still noticeable bruising and swelling, and later on to address lingering local inflammation. It is not a replacement for primary care for such conditions, but can be a very helpful complimentary treatment. (This is different from Manual Lymphatic Drainage and is not suited to chronic conditions such as lymphedema, or to address edema from having had lymph nodes removed as part of cancer treatment.) Lymphatic facilitation works by helping move the fluid that has built up around an injury or surgical site through the lymphatic system and into the circulatory system, to be filtered through the kidneys and passed as urine. Therefore it may not be a fit for clients experiencing lymphatic, heart/circulatory, or kidney/urinary conditions.
